Compare with optical touch technology:
 
Optical touch screen utilize CMOS/CCD camera. Receive Infrared reflection bar data. Get the coordinates by calculating reflection bar.
Because of optical technology theory defect, it reaches 2-touchs and be easy to read wrong coordinates. Though could reach 4-touchs by adding camera, it is also exist reading wrong coordinates. Surface Light Wave is easy to reach 10, 16, 32 points
Optical touch screen utilize camera, then add the touch frame thickness. Surface Light wave don’t have this problem, only 5mm.
Compare with infrared touch technology:
 
Infrared touch tech. the X, Y direction are arranged in uniform infrared emission tube and infrared receiver tube, format cross-horizontal infrared matrix. the finger block the light when you touch.
The controller determines the location of touch points on the screen.
Infrared touch screen can’t achieve real multi-touch, only through time-arrange technology realize pseudo 2-point touch, and multi-touch. the touch affection is very bad in this situation. IR tech is commonly called "1.5-touch tech." because of theory defect, the problem can’t solve.
Resolution: IR touch screen Physical resolution is only 300*300.reporting resolution is 4096*4096.the program usually have staircases slash.
Surface Light Wave Physical resolution is 1000*1000.reporting resolution is 32767*32767.can distinguishes minor jitter.
Support sharp recognition. Infrared touch technology can not distinguish a specific shape.
Surface light wave technology can support shape recognition, such as cup and cell phone, and support recognize multiple objects at the same time.
Anti-interference infrared touch frame can not adapt to strength light environments. Surface Light Wave uses a new anti-jamming technology. It can adapt strength light environments.
